Much of this information is available in our editor's lead stories in every current and back issue At OutsourcingCenter, we strongly advise outsourcing customers not to solicit presentations from suppliers as the first step and not to accept solicitations from suppliers as the first step. It is best to first work with a consulting company to help you define and understand what you are really wanting from the suppliers. The consultant will put you on a more level playing ground with the supplier when it comes to negotiating. Suppliers are not always objective. You'll find a list of consultants on our site. Consultants' methodologies are as different as suppliers' are. Some consultants can even help you cut down the amount of time (and, therefore, overall costs) involved in the procurement process.
