9. What is bundling?

We at the Outsourcing Center do not recommend bundled services. Paying a supplier one price that has more than one business process lumped together is not effective for a buyer. For example, a buyer should pay one price for human resources services and a separate price for helpdesk services, even if the same supplier provides the two services. Buyers need to understand exactly what they are paying for each service (even each component of the processes). Suppliers' invoices need to itemize the services. This keeps the supplier more accountable, and it enables the buyer to be able to charge back the usage fees to its various user departments.
